Today, video editing is available on almost every computer. From Sony Vegas, to Windows Movie Maker, to iMovie, to Final Cut Pro, to Adobe Premiere, Pinnacle Studio, and much more, you can easily create your own video. Anime fans have discovered a way to create their own music videos by combining their favorite songs and series/movies, into one short video clip. JustDubs.net is proud to host their first official AMV (Anime Music Video) contest.

Edit: Everyone sorry for the changed in the due dates. They are continuously being changed because of my lack of time to focus on this contest and also the lack of entries. I promise you this chaos in my life will end soon, and when that happens this AMV Contest will be judged and be over with. Until then, the due date will be extended until January 1, 2009. Just to let everyone know who may be intimidated of joining, we only have 7 entries! Hopefully more will be coming in.

Rules

[*]AMV must be longer than 30 seconds and shorter than 10 minutes (including opening and ending).
[*]The video must belong to you. If a video is found to be the works of others, the user will be disqualified and banned from all contests in the future.
[*]Since videos will be shown to a public audience, videos must be G, PG, or PG-13. No hentai! Any video submitted that contains explicit nudity, overuse of foul language, and/or unnecessary graphic violence will be disqualified at judges discretion.
[*]AMV must be a new video you just made.
[*]One entry/person. If we catch you creating multiple names, you will be disqualified.
[*]Must include a minimum of one anime and a maximum of ten.
[*]Must have a JustDubsForum's account.
[*]A judge may not participate in the contest, no bribes.
[*]Your AMV must be submitted before the end date.
[*]JustDub's staff reserves the right to make changes to the rules at any time.

Prize

[*]Your name will become a special color on the forums.
[*]Two animes of your choice will be added (Limit on episode number - 0-100)
[*]Your AMV will be featured on the home page of JustDubs.net

Suggestions

[*]Take out subs or captions, unless they are meant to be there.
[*]Try to use high quality footage, you can download from JustDubs, NarutoRaws, BleachExile, etc.
[*]Time your beats with every clip; don't just add random footage.
[*]If you want more advanced software, Sony offers a free trial for Vegas 8.0, and Adobe offers free trials for all of their products.
[*]Watch other AMVs (ex. for top-notch AMVs check the AMV of the Week) for ideas on quality, effects, and flow.
[*]Check out AnimeMusicVideos.org for great tutorials.
[*]No program sucks, no excuses, if you know how to use it right.
