i agree with Familiar of Zero, i thinks its very good personally. also Tales of Symphonia seems pretty fairy tailish although ive only seen 1 episode

The Familiar of Zero is really the only one that comes to mind. I really wanna say Fate/Stay Night, but I think that that is wrong. If you will watch movies, I think Howl's Moving Castle fits the bill.

I wouldn't say Fate/Stay Night, since it takes place in a modern area. I would think Spirited Away and Mononoke-hime are better choices for fairy tales.

You could try the 6th Kara no Kyoukai movie, since the theme song by Kalafina is "Fairytale".. but I don't think KnK is anything close to fairy tale-ish.

F/S N could possible pass off as one but its a long stretch. Also I hated the anime. Largely the animation is quite horrible, at times it looks like they handed a chimp a crayon and told him to go wild. The only place they put effort into in the animation is the battle scenes, which is probably because its impossible to do in a VN.

The animation in Fate/stay night isn't bad at all. It was good actually, it has a interesting and unique story to go along with it as well. The movie should be cool too.

Actually, the F/SN anime was absolutely horrible. Only 2/5 of the time did the art look quite splendid. Even during the battle scenes everything was screwed up. Look at the battle of Saber vs. Lancer, and you'll see that it's horrible.

Actually, the battle scenes in the VN are freaking awesome. You wouldn't believe what they could do with camera angles, fast frames, and sound effects. Here's a few videos. The first two are pretty good examples of how CGs are used in battles, but the other two are just awesome lol:

Fate Stay night is an excellent choice like most are recommending and FAIRY TAIL (the anime) my avatar, its awesome if you like one piece :)

My response:

Yay people know how bad the animation is :3, i mean at one point they have all the characters looking pretty good, and the next second Shirou's eyes are practically leaping off his face and he looks like he's made out of squares and triangles.

I have played the visual novel, they are good, but you cant stop me from dreaming about Sunrise one day making the battle scenes on par with Gundam 00. A lot more could have been done in the battle scenes, but the best animation in the anime was during the battles. Also disappointed in how they never have the extreme beast-like facial expressions in the anime like they do in the VN, especially lancer who is constantly describes as being a beast o.o Hercules and Archer look nowhere as badass as they do in the VN >.>

Btw is it just me or does the VN describe the battles as more give and take or being pinned down most of the time, while in the anime they bounce around aimlessly? Like i saw a trailer for UBW movie and Shirou's battle with Arcer had him jumping around like a chimp while in the VN he was almost completely broken and was just attacking archer head on?
