So after birdy recommended this series I started watching it, at first I was a bit skeptical about it because the story wasn't too interesting at the first episode.
But as it progressed this anime truely is awesome!

Has anyone else watched this anime? Who was your favorite character and why?

Also about tomoe Was that thing she did with shizuru when she became a valkyrie some really weird fetish or something? o.O

I too enjoyed it.. i choose Mai Tokiha...because of the trouble she goes through and because of her strength from it...I enjoyed this series but i prefer My HiME.. just because i think that the characters a potrayed better in that one...but in any case i choose Mai :)

Mai tokiha in mai hime then? Because she isn't really a major character until 2/3 of mai-otome :P

My favorite character for some reason is nina, i really like her even though she is a bit too possesive about her so called father... Arica is still a great character aswell. I'm currently watching mai-hime aswell and i was kinda disappointed that nina isn't in it, or atleast hasn't been in it yet.. well i thought i saw her in the class one second... but that isn't what i mean :pinch:

yeah lol..but in My-otome i like natsuki... simply because i think shes cool :b and i think my-hiME comes before my-otome..but anyways yeah...and does your avatar happen to be holo from spice and wolf??????

Yeah they really are both great series. To bad they are not that many people who have seen them. I know some people might think that using the same characters twice is just cheap, but I think it was a fanastic move into showing you how characters act if different positions. Natsuki in My Hime was much cooler, plus she did alot more.

I thought My-Hime was good but I didn't really get too into it. This one doesn't seem to be as popular so I don't really have an interest in seeing it. Plus just from reading the plot summary it doesn't sound like something I would be interested in. Maybe if I ever don't have something else to watch I will give this a try.

I thought My-Hime was good but I didn't really get too into it.

Any particular reason why you couldnt get into it if it was good?

Like I enjoyed it while I watched it, but it didn't really seem to me as something great. For example normally after watching an anime I really like I can remember a lot of the details. For this anime I can hardly remember much about the story.

Did you watch it all or drop out halfway, because I think the end half of the show is were it really picks up.

No all the way through. Only shows I ever dropped are Desert Punk and Negima.

I also thought miu was a pretty cool character, in mai-otome she's pretty nice but in the part of my-hime i've seen she hurt akane pretty badly :jawdrop1:

Yeah Thats what I love about it all the characters act differently in both of them. And I guess cuteness is an ok reason to like a character.

Er, ive never seen Mai-Otome, but im in the middle of watching Mai-HiME, and im hoping to finish it soon! its pretty good, so if you all liked the characters from Mai-Otome, check out Mai-HiME

I have seen both mi hime/otome and Mi-otome wins by a huge margin it's definitly an underrated anime that people should watch.

well i think there both really good and if your someone who has free time and looking for a good anime to watch then you should try watching either one of the two

I loved both series but I liked otome a little more because while both had serious and emotional endings it seemed a little more fun and light hearted than hime
My favorite character in otome was Shiho she was freakin hilarious and she ended up with the coolest looking robe

It started kinda slow but it's getting pretty interesting right now, around ep 16-18

Miu is actually really evil in this one, in mai-otome she was a cool friendly helper :jawdrop1:

because in Otome the one she served was good. Hime she was bad.

You really should have watched Hime first it would make what Miu said when she was at that shrine under water in one of the last few eps of otome (not sure exactly which one I think ep 25)

I guess so but anyway, has anyone watched the prequel to mai-otome? mai-otome s.ifr? it's 3 episodes long and pretty interesting about arica's mother rena and the others.

I just watched Mai-Otome 0 ~S.ifr~ and it was OK but I wish it was longer. I felt like this could have been a 24 episode series and they just used 3 episodes from the middle of it.
and I wish it would have led all the way up to the death of Rena Sayers

Really loved Mai Hime used to have it on dvd. Loved the last half thought it was pretty epic. I did watch one or two Mai Otome but i never stuck with it. Maybe it's about time i did :S

You really should I think its epic seeing same characters in different situations, plus Mai actually shows up eventually. It got the same kind of structure as My-HiMe as in its really funny up to a certain point then it gets really series but still has its funny moments.

I read about 5 vols of it and I just couldn't really get into it maybe because all of the differences
but it probably because I watched the anime first. I would have enjoyed it more if I would have read it first then I probably wouldn't have liked the anime.

I mentioned earlier in this thread that I liked Shiho the best because she was so funny and because her robe was the coolest looking well I finally got around to finding a pic of her in that robe

I though they were both on par with each other Mai otome and My HiMe were both just great. They need to make another anime with the same characters :P
