[Martial Heroes] {mmorpg}

very cool game, been playing senice 2005 (yes im a lil sad , but if its good why stop?)

from the title u can guess its Acient oriental based
~click and move game~ [so no new engine for movement]
~auto traget~ [no new engine here too]

other than them 2 set backs the game is a mixture of quests and grinding, very balanced until u reach very high lvls, which usualy take a long time to reach (so plenty to do before u get bored i hope)

The game is run and governed by the players most of time, until some people start doing illegal actions like with all online games :original:


....right down to some basics of the game

Classes - mage|| warrior || Monk || Assassin [the 4 usual you find in most games]

Each class has 3 weapon types - Mage: sword|fist|fan
Warrior: simitar|axe|lance
Monk: plummets|wheel|staff(rod)
Assassin: Claws|daggers|bow


the realy cool feature about this game is that u can change class at any time after a certian lvl, but only if u can afford it (does cost alot to change class)

Wars - their are currently 3 types of auto wars and 1 player activated war...
Guild war: war between the guilds in game, where the guild fight between each other to gain special BUFFS by destroying stones in-game
Faction war: war between the 2 factions/ LAWFUL(good side) Evil (evilside ) [the difference between the 2 sides is that one has stronger but slower skills, other has faster but weaker skills]
Area war - here guilds war each other to control areas where they can set Tax on items bought and sold in villages within that area

the player activate war is where a guild [which has gained a high enough rank( very easy to get the rank needed to do this)] starts war with another guild, this war does not stop until one guild gives up


yes sounds like alot of waring happens in game,


the usual PvE and PvP systems apply and the game is also a mix of AOE and PvP (but dont always assume PVP will kill an aoe based char)


Currently the game has 4 servers - International | EU | korean(original)| japerneese (newest)

but it is soon to have 3 as the International and EU are about to be merged to become 1 big one, which means more people to kill or to be killed by :shifty4ib:

I used to play Last Chaos which is a free MMORPG which featured awesome graphics, a fun combat system, lots of monsters and a huge player base, the only reason I stopped playing was because of the lack of quests. There were goals in the game, but for the most part it was grind/leveling up and forming parties to take on dungeons and big monsters that couldn't be tackled by a single player.

I also tried Fiesta for a while, but never really enjoyed it. The best games are the ones with a lot of quests and a lot of players who you can interact with, it's no fun playing an MMORPG and being one of the only people running around.

I have since switched to World of Warcraft and am absalutaly amazed at the depth of the game and all the great monsters, dungeons, quests and players there are. It's without a doubt the best MMORPG of all-time and thats why they have a user base of over 12 million active accounts :shothead:

I've played a couple free MMORPGs...

Rappelz [currently playing]
I like this game because it kind of ties in as a copy of WoW (World of Warcraft) but it is a little bit more mystical, so to speak. And it doesn't have very many different races/characters to choose from like WoW does. It kind of does have the same platform though.

Hero
This one is cool if you are into the Ninja Samurai thing. You get classed as an Assassin, Warrior, etc. You either get to be a male or female, there really isn't any race to choose from. You only choose male or female, and class, and then you just advance in your class.

FlyFF (Fly For Fun)
This one is like an anime version of Rappelz and is just basically in for killing, upgrading, level up, and getting better stuff. Sure there is something called a "noobie island" in every MMORPG, but, after that. It's not too good.

I like Rappelz the best.

Ouch, Runescape is terrible, but it was good for it's time I suppose. Runes of Magic is supposavly the "next big thing" with MMORPG's, apparently they hit 2 million players and they offer similar graphics to WoW and even more content and professions. I may check it out.

All i know is that im waiting for D3 to arrive. They have only announced like 4 classes. And i think they are taking away the druid my best class.

Edit- I have literaly played all the MMO that Redempt has played plus some like Luna, Gunbound, and Corum. and even though its not in this section or game genre you guys/gals should check out this game i found on NewGrounds. Its simple but fun with RPG elemts in it somewhat. and you should check out the other games there.

i missed it/them due to the fact i was busy and too lazy to download a 5gb+ game

the EU/US Cbeta will be coming up soon and you can pre-buy the CD from play.com and they promis to giv you an e-mail of when each beta is open + the activation keys and so on...

~can any one reccomend a cool MMORPG for me to play? i'v played mmos along the lines of:

I haven't played that many mmo's now that i think of it...
Most people started out with runescape, the shitty game that was fun while you didn't look at other games! Then after that i ended up in silkroad online which actually was pretty fun just a bit of a grindfest but that's a eastern mmo for you :laughing2dw:
And at the moment i'm still playing world of warcraft which i've been playing for like 3 years now i think.
Anyone else here who plays WoW and has a character on the eonar realm?

not WoW, please... WoW is so lame, like the only MMO most westerns know (EVERYTHING WoW) when ever a new MMO is comming out, its always comparied to WoW.

Reason for WoW having so many players is because there are far more Eastern MMOs than Western, so the eastern MMO lovers have a wide range of games to play, dus thining out the numbers on servers, where as Western MMOs ders hardly any good ones..
Any who thats just what i think.

I tried WoW, got bored after 10 hours, the graphics are so lame its a crime(not saying graphics are rubbish, but comeon! [¬_¬])... the chars and mobs look 'childish' and everything is quest this, quest that... if i wanted to read i wud pick up a adventure book.. no?

my opinion: RUBBISH

Why?

basicly is a Free version of WoW, and a bad one at that.... Mages are over powered once you reach lvl 20+ and own everything. graphics are not bad, very similar to WoW (the graphic style) but quality of graphics is a little btter than WoW due to the age(s) of the games.
Loads of running, loads of quests, loads of mobs, loads of map,LOADS of verything in one game basiclly
Over all if your an old time WoW player but have had enough of paying for a service thats just not worth it any more, then RoM might be for you, but other than that its just 4GB of poop!

Well the cartoony style looks pretty good for the game, 2 irl friends joined up playing the game since a few months and it's alot of fun really, i tried warhammer online too but that just sucked in comparison to WoW... which sucks because warhammer lore is awesome!
But really it's just what you like more, that korean mmo called aion tower of eternity coming to us looks pretty cool il keep an eye on that too
